More than 1500 people joined a virtual production print reveal from Xerox on 18 November 2020 called ‘Dreams In. Prints Out.’ Here, we round up the *nine* new products and features that offer productivity and profit boosters across the entire inkjet and digital print range.
What are November’s nine new Xerox Production Print innovations?
A Colour Accelerator module for the Xerox Baltoro inkjet platform (‘Color’ outside the UK!)
Confirmation of fluorescent pink for the Iridesse Production Press
Confirmation of three new printers: the VersaLink C8000W
….The Versant 280…
…and Versant 4100 digital presses
A Xerox Nuvera print speed upgrade…
…and another Xerox Nuvera print speed upgrade
A new AI-enabled media manager called PredictPrint
Updates to automated workflows with FreeFlow Core 6.0
The announcements demonstrate Xerox’s dedication to innovation across the entire production print range, from entry-level Beyond CMYK in the VersaLink range through Nuvera and Versant up to Iridesse and the inkjet platform, Baltoro. It is the broadest range in the industry, and it perhaps comes as no surprise that Xerox maintained its top spot in production print market share last year.
The focus of these innovations is increasing profitability through increasing margins and allowing print customers to expand into new areas with more straightforward and quicker processes, even with embellishments.
Watch the video below to see highlights of the event, or scroll down for more detail on the announcements.
Xerox Colour Accelerator for Baltoro
The Accelerator is a field-upgradeable module for the Xerox Baltoro HF Inkjet Press. It increases print quality, the accepted media range and automation capability opening new opportunities to direct mail, postcards and catalogues. Using 50% less ink than competitor presses to purge inkjet heads, operators get increased uptime and productivity with consistent and reliable quality. Inkonomics at its best.
The new module is the next step for the Baltoro platform, which arrived last year. The engine already leads the B3 cut-sheet inkjet market. It runs on just a fraction of the size, weight and power consumption of competitor presses, offering a lower total cost of ownership and a scalable and evolving platform.
Fluorescent Pink for Iridesse
More on this in our previous news article. Pink for the Iridesse offers a new speciality dry ink option to the existing Beyond CMYK offerings of gold, silver, white and clear.
We’ve included a new video below:
VersaLink 280 and VersaLink 4100
We’ve already reported these new machines; read the article here. It’s all about the rated speed and heavier media…
Faster Xerox Nuvera family
We know speed is of the essence in black and white print. The Xerox Nuvera 157 MX Production System and Xerox Nuvera MC Perfecting Production System presses have been upgraded to run faster. Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) print speeds now exceed any competitive press, making the trusted and tested Nuvera platform better than ever.
PredictPrint Media Manager Software
New AI-enabled software, PredictPrint Media Manager, is included with the new Versant 4100 and can be added to Iridesse. The software automatically identifies the media being used and provides the correct press settings from AI data streams. Scan a barcode, put the paper in the tray, and the set-up wizard walks you through.
FreeFlow Core 6.0
The newest version of FreeFlow Core automates the process of preparing a file for print and now handles Beyond CMYK enhancements. Built-in workflows make it simple to add gold, silver, white, clear and fluorescent embellishments and enhancements without changing the source file.
