With Kickstart Schemes potentially coming to an end, we are proud to say First Copy was one of many companies that took an interest from the beginning. Initially unable to be a part of the program due to its size, First Copy joined forces with Business 2 Business, making it possible to help those looking for employment and skill development opportunities.
We thought it would be an excellent idea to get Ena’s view of her time at First Copy so far. In an interview conducted by Holly, another Kickstarter in marketing, we wanted to get a glimpse of what it’s been like going from Kickstarter to employee.
To kick off our questions, we asked, “In your six-month position, what skills have First Copy given you?” Ena says she has, “developed skills in marketing, communication, design and working with data.” In addition, she mentions the improvement in her writing, “having written numerous blogs, news articles, and general business emails.” It can be challenging to draft and create important emails and stay focused on writing pieces, but Ena has taken it all in her stride.
Of course, we had to ask her what she enjoyed most about First Copy. We are happy to hear that the answer was “the whole team – and the fact that they bring out the best in me”. Well, we can safely say Ena’s hard work has brought out the best in us as well. Without her hard work and creative initiative, marketing wouldn’t be where it is today.
We asked Ena how she felt when she was offered the job. She responded, “I was ecstatic – it was the best Christmas present I could ask for!”, we couldn’t really ask for a better response than that!
With the world as her oyster, we’re curious to know why she chose to stay at First Copy. She says it was an “easy decision”; “First Copy is a supportive and friendly team that will help me grow and improve my skills, and most importantly, I like my job!”. Here at First Copy, we pride ourselves in having a close-knit team, a positive atmosphere, and an encouraging attitude towards team members, striving for the best. We’re delighted that that has shone through.
We ended our mini-interview with a few shorter questions. What is Ena most excited about for the future, now being part of the team? Ena said, “Honestly, I don’t think much will change because I’ve always felt like part of the team”.
We asked Ena if she could sum up her Kickstart experience in one word. She confidently replied, “Exciting! No two days are the same”. Finally, we asked Ena if she’d like to say anything to First Copy. “I would like to thank them for this opportunity”, she said.
