We prescribe a Nuvera: new Ultra-Lightweight Stock Printing Kit available now
Print, flip and stack ultra-light stocks of just 44gsm, at sizes up to SRA3, without slowing the flow of jobs. That’s the lightest stock weight in the industry on our maximum sheet size. Sound good? We can now offer a kit for the Nuvera that can do just that, and it’s an industry-leading capability unique to Xerox.
For short-run digital books, pharmaceutical prescriptions, directories, prospectuses or instructions that need to fold down small from large sheet sizes, we recommend you give us a call and ask us about the Ultra-Lightweight Stock Printing Kit.
This latest upgrade kit for specific Nuvera EA Production Printing Systems gives you the ability to capitalise on the growing book market, and anywhere else where total weight is a key consideration, like the inserts inside pharmaceutical boxes. The kit gives you the opportunity to confidently migrate from offset to short-run digital book jobs and take on larger titles or higher volume jobs. While a competitor can offer some lightweight stocks, only Xerox can do this without holding up the flow of jobs and impacting your economics.
Lightweight stocks offer cost benefits to your customer, too - not just the cost of the stock but the ongoing costs of shipping and mailing - so offering an additional range could help you secure new and additional business. (Although it’s worth noting lightweight stocks usually need to be converted from roll to cut-sheet before running through a Nuvera).
All this with no compromise on the Nuvera’s heavy-duty functionality and image quality. With a range of stock weight from 44 to 300 gsm (with the new kit), 15 different ways to finish output inline or near-line and a 23,200 sheet feed capacity, the monochrome workhorse continues to deliver. In fact, the Nuvera has delivered the majority of monochrome pages produced for the last 15 years (IDC).
There’s no need to sacrifice the reliability that you depend on with the new Kit - the Nuvera retains its dual engine uptime, competitiveness with offset, powerful processing, efficient finishing and optimised set-up time. Specific Nuvera EA models can be retrofitted with the new kit, and new customers can add the Kit as an option from the word ‘Go’.
How does the kit work? Components are installed in two places: the Nuvera print engine(s) and the Production Stacker(s). This ensures that sheets stay flat and quality remains high from imaging all the way to stacking. Changing from heavier media to ultra-lightweight stock (and vice versa) is done at the touch of a button, with no waiting time.
Pull images faster from the belt and place them more firmly through a combination of tab assembly improvements, timing and stiffer springs
Keep stock flat with modified paper transport elements
Automatically lower the fuser temperature to protect delicate stocks from the heat of the print process
Use an adjusted registration wall and new flip wheels to prevent stretching
Include specially designed blowers to ensure stock doesn’t bunch or fold
Monochrome digital print is still the backbone of the production market, and the market is thriving - accounting for about 63% of cut-sheet production digital print volume (Xerox figures for US and Western Europe).
Xerox are still working hard to push forward the capabilities of the Nuvera as it meets the needs of an ever-changing market. With the new Ultra-Lightweight Stock Printing Kit, the Nuvera remains just what the doctor ordered for a competitive advantage.
